Watched the movie #KashmirFiles today, first movie in hall in about 3 years after watching Uri, another impactful movie.
This movie is an experience, it shakes you to the core, you can’t stop thinking about it hours later, somewhat like Schindler’s List, only it’s more relevant to me as it relates to India. Having seen Kashmiri Hindus living in my neighborhood in the 90s and later reading and hearing their stories, I was quite aware of the genocide that happened in our time. But the movie weaves the whole perspective together.
I grew up next to Kashmiri Hindu families in Indore in my neighborhood, 3 families living in a 2 BHK apartment, they ran away overnight from their homes in Kashmir with hardly a suitcase. Even in northern india people don't know that genocide happened in 1990. I remember a bit even in childhood since my mother is from Himachal, the Kashmiri ladies used to be her friends.. the men and boys used to come regularly to our colony sangh shakha. RSS helped them settle down, even now it was the RSS behind the scenes that removed Article 370. A MUST WATCH for everyone, especially if you didn’t know about the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990.

Most Kashmiri Hindus living outside J&K don't have any family photos, some children whose parents passed away during the exodus/genocide or later while they were little haven't ever seen their parents'/relatives' faces or pictures.

Looks like triple burnol for many- Yogi comes back Kashmir files is a hit. Hijab ban is upheld by Karnataka high court burnol is in short supply 😁 Btw, so many people of the metros who prided themselves in being the most aware individuals, having the most exposure compared to those from small town and mid-tier cities, are finding their half baked knowledge stinks badly.

Saw it yesterday. It was more for supporting Vivek Agnihotri who has been cancelled by woke mainstream. I didn’t like Tashkent files so much. Good theme but too boring.
But this one gripped me.
weaves all the disparate real stories well. It shows the tragedy as was. No saviors. No Rahim Chacha. Clearly shows all Kashmiri Muslims being Anti India. It would have surely had censor troubles in any secular govt including ABV sarkar
